Hickory Flavoured Barbecue Sauce
Condiments - Sauce -

INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 1/2 T cider vinegar
2 T liquid hickory smoke flavouring (ie Liquid Smoke)
2 T barley malt syrup
1 1/2 T brown rice miso or barley miso
1 T olive oil
1/2 medium onion minced
2 cloves garlic, crushed and minced
METHOD
Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and simmer over low heat for 5-10 minutes.
Use immediately or cover tightly and refrigerate up to two weeks.
