Crispy Tofu Cubes

INGREDIENTS
    • 1 lb / 450 g firm tofu
    • 2 T nutritional yeast
    • 2 T flour
    • 1 T garlic salt
    • 1 t pepper
    • 1-2 T oil

METHOD
Cut the tofu into 1/4 inch / 7 mm cubes. Do not pat dry.

Combine the nutritional yeast, flour, garlic salt and pepper in a container with a lid. Add the tofu. Shake well to coat the tofu.

Heat the oil in a non-stick skillet. Add the tofu and cook over medium heat turning the tofu every few minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Use in stir frys or in fried rice.

just made some,and it is fantastic. I used sesame oil and Italian seasonings

I don't think I'll ever eat tofu any other way! It was delicious. I have to admit, I didn't have the yeast, or the garlic salt...lol. I made up the spice using Mrs. Dash Table Blend which has powdered garlic, peppet and many other nice spices and things, plus a fancy New Zealand organic sea salt. I had read an article where some chefs made crispy tofu, their tip was never press out the moisture, and don't move it too much; let it get browned well on each side, so I kind of incorporated that as well. Thanks!

This is the best tofu I've made for myself in my nearly 5 years of eating tofu!

Thanks for an awesome recipe! Soon I'll be brave and try variations.
