Surprise Chutney

INGREDIENTS
- 1 breadmaker with a jam setting
- 1 3/4 cups raw sugar
- 500 g / 1.1 lb of fruit - i used about:
- 200 g / 7 oz of finely chopped jackfruit
- 1/2 banana
- Sultanas
- About 1 t of ground ginger
- 1 fresh small chilli chopped up finely with the seeds removed
- About 150 ml / 5 fl oz of malt vinegar is part of the 500g
METHOD
Set it on the jam setting which is 1 hour 50 minutes with the first 10 minutes being a heating time. I actually ran it twice as I wasn't happy with the consistency after the first lot. I stopped cycle 2 after an hour.
NOTES
It came out dark brown looking and absolutely scrumptious. It is very sweet but the chilli gives it a little kick. It could be used as a jam on something like plain scones or as a very sweet chutney.
