Disgustingly Healthy Spirulina Protein Smoothie

Beverages - Smoothie - Make this your favorite recipe - Upload a new picture for this recipe

INGREDIENTS
      Base.

    • 1 banana (2 if you REALLY like narnies)
    • 100 g / 3.5 oz silken tofu
    • 1 cup soy milk
    • Add some fresh or frozen berries if you like them

      WARNING: Extreme healthiness ahead!!

    • 2-3 t spirulina powder
    • 1-2 t tahini
    • 1 T flaxseed oil
    • 2 t LSA (linseed, sunflower, almond)
    • 2 t maple syrup

METHOD
It's pretty complex...

Blend the base, add the disgustingly healthy bits, then blend again and serve.

Be careful, many have found this smoothie to be addictive.

NOTES
This is a great breakfast, it's filling and full of protein so it keeps you going well past lunch time. Not to mention exceeding the RDIs for HEAPS of nutrients including omega 3, 6 AND 9, essential and non-essential amino acids, calcium, iron and B12 (the last 2 often lacking in vego/vegan diets). It's also packed with antioxidants and blood cleansers. I know what I'm on about, I'm a natural therapist. Aside from all that stuff, it tastes WICKED!! I know what I'm on about, I'm fussy :)

Really cool as a recipe. Yet, as a newcomer who is used to eating "muscle builders", how can I keep building muscles the vegetarian way? Any help please? Maybe it's here on the site and I'm not finding it...Thanks in advance.

sounds yummy
where it says LSA, do you mean any of those oils? or all of them? or the actual sunflower seeds or almonds?

LSA should refer to Sandra Cabot and her liver cleaning mix.

Thank you for posting this! You are an angel!
It has become my favourite breakfast for the last 3 months!
The only thing I'd like to see is its nutritional information.

Thanks again!
