Coconut Chutney

INGREDIENTS
    • 2 T oil
    • 8 dried red chilies
    • 1/2 dried coconut, grated (I'm guessing about 3/4 - 1 cup)
    • 1/4 cup urad dal (black skinned white lentils)
    • 2 T tamarind paste
    • Salt to taste

      Baghar

    • 1 T oil
    • 1 t cumin seeds
    • 2 dried red chiles, broken

METHOD
Heat oil over medium heat, fry chilies, coconut and urad dal for a few minutes, until the coconut turns golden. Put into a blender with the tamarind paste and salt. Whizz, then put into a small bowl.

Baghar

Heat the oil and fry the cumin and red chilies until the cumin seeds darken a little. Pour over chutney and stir.
