Spaghetti Bolognese

INGREDIENTS
      TVP Mixture

    • TVP
    • Wine (or vinegar if you don't use wine)
    • Tomato paste
    • Herbs (e.g. basil, oregano - or mixed herbs)
    • A little Marmite
    • Salt & pepper
    • Soy sauce

    • 1 medium onion, chopped
    • 1-2 cloves garlic, chopped
    • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
    • Handful of mushrooms, chopped (optional)
    • Herbs to taste
    • Salt & pepper to taste
    • Oil (for frying - I usually use olive oil)

METHOD
Marinate the TVP in the wine, tomato paste, herbs, marmite, salt, pepper, soy sauce, whatever you have on hand.

Fry up the onion and garlic on a medium heat until onion is soft. If using mushrooms, add them and fry for a couple of minutes.

Drain the TVP, saving the marinade, and add to the onion. Fry until slightly brown.

Add tomatoes, and marinade liquid as seems appropriate (you don't want it too liquid, so judge how much liquid needs adding). Add herbs as appropriate (bear in mind that there are some in the marinade liquid).

Cook for about 10-15 minutes - during which time you can cook the pasta.

Serve & eat.
