Buy a block of tofu. Press it under a weight to press out excess liquid. Cut into fish finger sized pieces. Then soak it in a mild vinegar. Optionally coat in another sauce, such as tartare. Make a quantity of vegan batter, preferably using beer for liquid. Dip the pieces in the batter and deep-fry. Serve with home-cut thick chips and peas.
