In a huge vat, saute the reconstituted TVP in a some oil until lightly browned. Add the onions and remaining ingredients. Simmer for 20 minutes to allow seasoning to be absorbed. The mixture should be moist but hold its shape when placed on a bun. Place approximately 3 oz / 85 g of the mixture on each bun.
Note from school recipe file: To prevent the buns from becoming soggy, sandwiches should be made up on the serving line. They should not be prepared ahead of time.
