Rhubarb Crumble

INGREDIENTS
    • 675 g / 1 1/2 lb rhubarb, washed and chopped
    • 50 g / 2 oz soft brown sugar
    • 125 g / 4 oz vegan margarine chilled
    • 125 g / 4 oz plain flour
    • 125 g / 4 oz soft brown sugar
    • 75 g / 3 oz rolled oats
    • 25 g / 1 oz ground almonds
    • 1 t ground cinnamon

METHOD
Place the rhubarb and sugar in a saucepan with 2 tablespoons water. Cook over a medium heat until the rhubarb begins to soften.

Rub the margarine and flour together until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Gently stir in the oats, sugar, almonds and cinnamon.

Place the rhubarb in an oven proof dish and top with the crumble mixture. Bake at 190C/375F (Gas Mark 5) for 25 minutes.

Something is wrong with the proportions in this recipe. Equal amounts of flour and margarine do not make a dry crumble. I notice other crumble recipes on the net use at least double flour to margarine ratio. Perhaps the author could recheck what's going on here?
