Breast Milk Ice Cream
A new vegan alternative for ice cream?

A restaurant in London's Covent Garden is serving a new range of ice cream, made with breast milk.

The dessert, called Baby Gaga, is churned with donations from London mother Victoria Hiley, and served with a rusk and an optional shot of Calpol or Bonjela. Mrs Hiley, 35, said if adults realised how tasty breast milk was more new mothers would be encouraged to breastfeed. Each serving of Baby Gaga at Icecreamists costs £14. Mrs Hiley's donation was expressed on site and pasteurised before being churned with Madagascan vanilla pods and lemon zest.

I wonder how it compares to some of the Vegan Ice Cream Recipes we have?

The Baby Gaga recipe blends breast milk with Madagascan vanilla pods and lemon zest, which is then churned into ice cream. The vanilla breast milk ice cream is being sold for $23 per scoop.

How is breast milk vegan? A vegan diet is one free of meat and meat by products. That includes eggs, and milk. Last I checked, man is still an animal and therefor breast milk is not vegan.

The difference being that human milk is intended for consumption by humans, as well as (perhaps) more importantly freely given.

From wikipedia: Veganism is the practice of eliminating the use by human beings of non-human animal products"

Breast milk is healthy for you and this ice cream looks delicious. I know the price is well worth it.
