Tofutti is my personal hero

Posted On: 2007/02/05 - 07:47

Being a vegan and vegetarian has gotten easier even in the relatively short timespan that I've been vegan. Creating delicious food quickly that can be enjoyed by all types of eaters is something within the reach of just about all of us.

Some of the best products that I use to create yummy food come from Tofutti. Their Plain Sour Cream and Plain Cream Cheese really make some of my favorite things to eat possible. They also help to show everyone that you can make enticing food that appeals to everyone.

Thank Tofutti for submitting these recipes, I'm sure we will all get great use out of them:
- Jalapeno Poppers
- Fettuccini Alfredo
- Cruellers

i've got a real love hate thing with "mincz the prince of tofu" as this gorgeous man calls himself on the tofutti school pizza box. most of the products marketed are actually from orthodox formulations to keep G_D from thinking you were consuming an animal with it's mothers milk. that part doesn't bother me with the price gouging for a growing niche market (nearly one third of grocery tabs in this country go to nutriceutical products). however the Archers Daniel Midland patented textured vegtible protein was originally invented in the fifties for cheap institutional price cutting in jails and schools. when soccer mom's and dad's accross the country cried foul in the seventies there seemed to be a stroke of genius at the top levels of the words largest soy dealer to market the stuff to people interested in not eating the real deal for health, ethical or religious reasons. is there a growing movement in this country or simply an efficient marketing of soylent green? all i really know for sure is silk is way better than that ener-g mix it yourself crap from back then...

Whoa there. I realize we vegan folk tend to be a feisty bunch, and I love the passion behind your statements.

But were just trying to share some fun recipes between each other, especially recipes that help people see that normal people can eat vegan and vegetarian food.

It's products like Tofutti that really help the average person try something vegan, and see that they could replace some of their current food with something more cruelty free and that not all veggie food is boiled eggplant.
