Thanks for the cool cajun sausage recipe!
I'm looking (in vain, it seems) for a seasoning recipe for vegetarian "sausage" that resembles the taste the of name brand "dinner style" ones at the supermarket. You know, H*LLS**RE F*RMS, SM**Y HO**OW,etc; That type of large, link sausage. I prefer a Polska Keilbasa type seasoning mix recipe.I love Julie Hasson's seitan sausage recipe (from Daily Dish) but it is only for the Italian style seasoned ones.
I also have the seasoning recipes for breakfast veg sausage.
I want to approximate the "real" sausage flavors in my original red beans and rice, soups, and other recipes, where I used to use real meat (blecch!!) before becoming a veghead. I have fallen in love with the wonders of seitan, so that type of faux meat is just fine with me! In fact, I prefer it.Please help me find a suitable spice blend for dinner sausage. My pre-vegetarian fave recipes are really begging for that smoky "dinner sausage" flavor!
